Next Art Hop April 21, 2012 5-9pm, registration deadline is 30 days before the Art Hop. Artists in order to participate you have to upload images of your artwork, if you don't have your images uploaded you can not participate. No vendors, tables outside, passing flyers and soliciting during the Art Hop.

| Artist Statement | I am an artist from Los Angeles and I have recently moved to Merced. My medium is currently oil on canvass but I dabble with watercolors and acrylic. As an artist I am trying to understand my communication with the view and myself. I have been on hiatus as a painter for a year now and have been drawing and experimenting with comic zines. I am an emerging artist that paints for the fact of frustration and love. I feel the creative mind and visual image is something to be explored and shared. I am interested in the development and process of collaborative work this is something I have learned is effective in communicating and exposing the voice of a community and the way an individual perceives their community + It is always fun working and sharing ideas with someone else because you can learn so much from others and learn from yourself by teaching or experimenting. I enjoy the idea of nonsense, it sometimes reflects in my work. I like the suggestion that thing don’t always need a complex metaphor or explanation, that things can exist for pure pleasure or idiocy. |
