User Type Artist
Personal Profile Professional artist and lecturer at UC Merced, Karen LeCocq, is a mixed media sculptor who has shown nationally and internationally in galleries as well as major museums, among them: The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY, The Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art and The Armand Hammer Museum, Los Angeles. She works primarily in assemblage, using found objects. The materials used are an earthy blend, ranging from weathered animal bone to rusted steel. The objects used take on a new life when they are joined within the piece, showing an unfamiliar way of looking at something that was once common and insignificant, now possessing a fresh existence and mystery. Professional artist David Medley is a mixed media sculptor working primarily in steel, wood and found objects. His fabricated, assemblage and kinetic work has shown nationally in museums and galleries. He has also produced numerous commisioned pieces for homes, offices and outdoor public spaces.
